Building Success
It might be months away, but now is the time to start planning to attend Alumni 16! Alumni 15 was an amazing experience for everyone who attended, including myself, and the next one is set to be even bigger and better. There will be astounding speakers, access to our resource library and lots of fun, of course, but what other reasons are there for attending? I think you’ll find the following information not only compelling, but pertinent to your personal situation.
Connecting with Others
Life is built not of our successes with our wealth, but out of our connections with others. Our connections with family and friends form the cornerstone of a successful life. Who can claim to be truly successful if they’re alone and friendless? Think about Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. He had all the wealth he could possibly want, but he was doomed to die alone, un-mourned, a miserable FAILURE despite his vast monetary wealth. He lacked personal connections. He lacked friends, family, and even the most basic business acquaintances we all take for granted.
Alumni 16 will be the single best chance for you to connect and meet others.
Networking Opportunities Galore
Connecting with others is vital, but you’ll find that the opportunities presented to you at Alumni 16 go far beyond this. Networking is essential for anyone who wants to realise the highest success in our modern world. It truly as become “not what you know, but whom you know”. I shouldn’t need to tell you the value of networking, but let’s touch on it nonetheless.
Networking forms the cornerstone of entrepreneurial success and actually embodies the entrepreneurial spirit more than many other concepts. It’s a unique notion, of business owner helping business owner. It’s a spirit of collaboration and dedication to mutual success. It’s more than “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours”, though. The true concept of networking is one of building connections, fostering relationships with those in the same or complementing fields and then leveraging those connections to create mutual advantage.
Face time is an interesting concept, but one that many entrepreneurs (and even CEOs) fail to put to use. Face time is an essential ingredient for success, particularly in the area of networking. Think about it this way – are you more willing to work hand-in-hand with someone you remember meeting in person, shaking their hand and getting to know them, or some faceless entity you’ve only corresponded with via email and social networks online? You’re going to go with the person you know – face time helps build connections and fosters networking.
Community
You’ve heard it before, but it’s worth saying again. Community is what success is founded on. Each of the elements listed above goes toward building a sense of community among our attendees, and that’s exactly what we are. Think about that word for a moment – it implies a sense of camaraderie, of friendship, of a deeper connection than a merely casual acquaintanceship. Community is a powerful notion, and one that can change the course of history and transform lives. Come be a part of our community – plan to attend Alumni 16 in 2013!
