Being Healthy is Easy!

Being Healthy is Easy!

Apples and tape measureHow many times have you sworn to yourself that you will lose weight or become a healthier person?  Lost count?  Most of us have. But, instead of commitments, we are setting resolutions or goals. Miss a resolution or goal, there’s no big repercussion. Miss a commitment… then you have missed a clear deadline for success.  If you approach your commitments this year with Yes! Energy, you will find that all it takes is a few small shifts in what you are doing to make a big difference.

Here are a two small shifts you can make today!

Drink Water! Everyone I know who is healthy (or getting healthier) drinks a lot of water. Water is essential so your body can operate the way it needs to.

Build Activity into Your Routine: Activity (NOT working out… that’s WORK) should be a part of your routine every day. Don’t tie yourself to minutes of activity, just get out and do it!  Take a walk. Play a sport. Play with your kids. Just move!

Start there.  Try those two things. Don’t go wild and place demands on yourself.  Just start making small shifts and you will see big results. The most healthy you can do to prepare for 2012 is to forget the resolutions and make a commitment to your well-being. A healthy you is a successful you!

I want to invite you to join me in a tradition, to set your 2012 commitment. Forget New Year’s resolutions. They don’t work and they aren’t as strong as a true commitment. I do this every year for myself and my business.  Now, I want to share it with you.

I like to drink herbal tea in the cold months. Especially at work. This is a great way to increase intake of fluids and also build the immune system with natural herbs. Makes the “drink more water” a cinch. I have 5 boxes of herbal tea in my drawer and look forward to each hot cup!
As far as the activity part, I happen to live in an amazing area that has lot of hiking available, and I also live in a cute town, so walking is my base activity and I do classes at the gym (Zumba baby!) for the cardio, flexibility and FUN.
I made a huge shift in my diet recently and am amazed at how much better I feel – this kind of reward is priceless! Happy New Year everyone 🙂
