WOW.
Just wow.
This morning I was named the 2013 Woman of the Year by my wonderful sorority Delta Zeta – an organization that was founded in 1902 and has about 250,000 alumnae and collegiate members worldwide.

I joined this amazing sisterhood back when I was a student at Nebraska Wesleyan University and had amazing, life-changing experiences. Some of my sisters were early mentors, business partners, and best friends of mine. They had a tremendous influence on my development and gave me a glimpse to what one person could do if she gave her life to something she was passionate about.
Delta Zeta truly helped me develop into a strong, confident, visionary young woman.
And it’s an incredible honor to be named among some of the most amazing women this sorority and nation has seen. Women such as Congresswoman Shelley Berkley (WOTY 1991), Basketball Hall of Fame Head Coach Kay Yow (WOTY 1987), Director of Betty Crocker Kitchens Mercedes Bates (WOTY 1970), and Oscar Award Winner Edith Head (WOTY 1968), just to name a few.
Thank you for the love, lessons, and lifelong bonds, Delta Zeta.
Cheers to DZ!
