Seed money, sometimes known as seed funding, friends and family funding or angel funding (and some times also as venture capital), is a securities offering whereby one or more parties that have some connection to a new enterprise invest the funds necessary to start the business so that it has enough funds to sustain itself for a period of development until it reaches either a state where it is able to continue funding itself, or has created something in value so that it is worthy of future rounds of funding. – Wikipedia
Let me tell you this: you don’t need seed money!
If you don’t know how to make basic money now and I gave you $5,000 to start, you wouldn’t know what to do with it to grow it. And until you know that answer, seed money (or startup capital) is not the question. Thinking you need seed money is more of an excuse to not get started at all.
No one is going to give you seed money when you haven’t proven that you can make money. So, for a lot of you, why would anyone give you money when you can’t even pay your own bills?
A lack of money is nothing more than an excuse. The real problem is simply a lack of training on how to get the ball rolling so you can build your business. I teach this! In three days you could learn everything you need to know to get started with your own business. But that’s not what I’m trying to get across today.
I get a lot of no-energy excuses and I want to address them. I get excuses like: I have no business, no experience, no time, no seed money or even I’ve already failed.
You have to get out of your own way! Until you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, you’re not going to get off your rear end and move. Forget about seed money!
Just say Yes!
Create your business based on what you already know how to do and serve people using that skill. Then get off your rear and get out there and sell it. Seed money won’t do anything important for you that can’t be done without it.
Sell your way to success because until you can return capital no one is going to loan you seed money for your business. Nor should they.
How bad do you want it?
