Ever have some song pop into your head for no apparent reason?
The theme song from Mary Tyler Moore came to me out of the blue. This is such an old show. I don’t think it is playing not even on one of those late night cable station.
I had to look up the lyrics.

Awhile back I read a book recommended by Loral called “ Practical Intuition” and it stated that certain signs come up that help guide you and provide answers. Maybe this song was more than just an old song from a long forgotten show.

We attended a PrePaid Legal Convention and was able to meet several 6 figure income earners and millionaires. We got to socialize and dance with the stars of PrePaid Legal.

The high income earners were able to share their pearls of wisdom and discuss their road to success. It was very inspirational. It is so easy to fall back and not do anything. It is easy to sit back and avoid the hard stuff, to resist change, to not grow.

I find if I don’t surround myself with positive successful people, I tend to revert back to my old habits. Most of my old friends have a full time job and have a different language and perspective on life. I talk about working on my job not in a job. I talk about marketing ideas and networking. I talk about business strategies. They don’t seem to grasp the idea of getting residual or passive income and working hard towards it. They complain they work so hard and have no time. Why work so hard and spend so much time in a job when the same time and effort in your own business will benefit you vs some other company.

I find myself struggling at times between working more hours in a job vs working on the business. Money from the job is consistent and predictable though finite. I can only earn so much an hour. The income from the business is irregular though has unlimited potential. Bills need to be paid so do I work more hours at the job and less with the business? I need to find that balance for a better, more profitable future.

I will have to work part time at my job and full time building my fortune. I need to work smarter and leverage my time.

We are at the Director level now with PrePaid Legal Services. This is the highest permanent position within the company. We have been making money every month and March so far has been the most profitable. We made it to the “comma club” The company developed a new category called the “comma club” for those who make over a thousand per month, hence the name.

It is such a BIG relief and a great feeling to have more money flowing in. This type of residual income is so much better than earned income from a W2 job. Our earlier coaching calls were with Rusty Kochis for our Real Estate Investment Business. Great information was provided to help us manage our properties. We are active in the Real Estate Investment clubs and have several mentors /resources so we felt we needed help in other areas.

Had our coaching call with Martha Hanlon of Market Out Loud for our PrePaid Legal business. Marketing and Sales are so important to any business, without it there would be no income.

There are so many similar products and services that a customer or client could choose to patronize any one. It is rare to have a business that is so unique that only one of its kind exist. The big question then is why would anyone want to do business with you or your company especially if they do not know you. Some of the suggestions we were given was to determine your pre-eminence. What makes you or your company different and special? What is your unique selling proposition?

Loral is the millionaire maker. She promotes a bigger, better life focused on income through your cash machine versus a W2 job. Emphasis is placed on income vs debt.

What do we represent?
We promote time and money freedom through the business opportunity with PrePaid Legal Services. They have the best compensation plan and the best resources and training. When you join our nationwide team and / or sign up for the service through us, you are provided with ongoing support. We go out of our way and work hard so you get paid and promoted.

Another suggestion was to get testimonials or success stories for validation. These should include the problem, how you solved it and what was the end result. The most used word in the majority of 2 year olds is the word “NO”. It is said so automatically and sometimes just because it is fun to say. As adults, we still hear and say “NO’ or more politely “No Thank You”. I wonder how many no’s have been said in a lifetime

When at the store and asked if you need help, we say No Thank You
Would you sign this petition? No  Would you like to taste this strange smelling food? No Thank You

Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies? Despite those great chocolate mint cookies, we still say “No Thank You”

Or more emphatic “HELL NO” when approached in the early morning hours by some religious goups

Why does “NO” come more easily than “YES”. Are we just reverting back to the 2 year old? Is it the easy way out to get out of a situation? Is it a more polite way of saying “don’t bother me? Or is it a way to postpone a decision that maybe you might regret later on? Or maybe it is a way to block changes and possibly opportunities?

Whatever the reason, don’t let it discourage you. Just get more “NO’s.
Why do you want to get more No’s ?
1. It will eventually lead to “YES”
2. You will get more practice in asking and talking to people
3. Better questions will be asked to get to more “YES”
4. You will not be hurt or discouraged hearing the word “No”
5. Less pressure to get to “YES”
6. It will result in more sales.
7. No will mean “not now”
8. More opportunities to get to know you better

A great part of the cash machine workshop is the market place when everyone gets to ask for the sale of their product or service. The goal is to get at least 10 No’s that way the pressure is off.

Sales is an integral part of any business. No sales, no income. So when you hear “NO” celebrate and get more “no’s’. It will make you stronger, help you become a better communicator, and make you wealthy.

It is said things happen for a reason. I wonder why things happen and other times I just accept it. It is not worth spending that much time on it. It is like the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, night follows day, and summer is after spring. It is what it is.

Where are all the other participants of this blog on Loral Live? What exactly was the purpose and why are there no current entries from the others? Sometimes ideas and projects are placed in action without having everything in order. Even the Live Out Loud community is slow to come alive. They say fail forward fast so you know what works and what doesn’t and then you can change accordingly. Apparently no one knew that the “Secret” video would be such a huge hit. Guess you never know till you do something.

Maybe this blog will turn into something bigger than it is now. Presently it seems like I am talking to myself. I am not sure whether this blog should be a teaching tool to let other learn from us or be used to promote our business. There is no feedback or interaction with this blog so it seems very one sided. How interesting is it for others to read what I have to say?
It is What It Is and so I will continue to blog. Maybe others will join in and participate with me.

“Investing in Your Future”

What does it take to be an Olympian? What does it take to win the Gold medal and to be recognized as the best in the world? There are so many athletes competing in various events and each event requires special training and skills yet they all have common traits.

Determination, passion, discipline and dedication are some of the things required. Many years of intensive physical and mental training is required along with sacrifices of time and finances. Sponsors don’t pay for your training and expenses until you prove yourself. So many have suffered injuries and endured several surgeries and painful recovery. One even resulted in death yesterday in the Luge event.

So why would they push themselves to such extremes? Maybe it is that single- minded focus not driven by money and fame but by a sense of victory and knowledge that all the hard work and dedication paid off. To be an Olympian is probably an experience of a lifetime. To win the Gold medal would probably be hard to express in words.

What each athlete goes through to get to the Olympics is not fully revealed. To be an Olympian must require so much mental as well as physical fortitude. They make it sometimes seem much easier than it is in actuality. It is amazing what the mind and body can accomplish.

The traits of an Olympian must be some of the same traits needed to be an entrepreneur. It takes a lot of mental conditioning to pursue your dreams and to overcome challenges. It takes dedication and determination along with a passion and desire to succeed. There also needs to be a higher reason for being in your own business other than money.

So how prepared and ready are you to be an entrepreneur? How many of you have what it takes to succeed? The seminar speakers make it sound easy. All you apparently need to do is follow their 5 or 7 or 10 steps. In actually it takes more than following those steps. A lot comes from you and what you are willing to do and capable of doing. Having your “why” is important. This will keep you motivated and keep you moving forward.

Our journey is not an easy one. It is a lot of work and a lot of time. It takes some money as well to get the training and to get the needed support for your business. We have been investing in Real Estate for almost 9 years and have several properties in 4 states. This did not come easy. We had to attend and pay for several trainings. We had to view a lot of properties and make several offers. We had to help with some of the remodeling.  We had to manage it. It took a lot of sweat equity. We spent a lot of our evenings, weekends and spare time to do this since we were working full time in our jobs. It has been about 5 years since we have not been dependent on a W2 job. We no longer have to worry about being fired. We now have flexibility with our time. Our hard work now directly benefits us and those on our team.

Think about why you are in business? What motivates you? Are you prepared to push through your fears? Are you ready to take action? Without some of these answers and without some of the traits of an Olympian, you may not succeed.
